Thomas:Hello Heidi.What are you doing here so early in the moring?   ヤ、ハイジ、何だね、こんな時間に大変は格好をして
Heidi:I'm waiting for my Aunt.      おばさんを待っての。
Thomas:Your Aunt Dete?Deteかい?

Dete:Good morning Mr.Thomas.あら、Thomasさん、おはよう、
Thomas:Hi! Where are you going so early?
Dete:To Dorfli.And you? Dorfliへ行くの、どこまで?
Thomas:I'm going to Mayenfeld.
Dete:Then,can you give us a ride?あら、じゃ乗っけててくれる?

Heidi:It's hot!暑い

       to leave Heidi with her Grandfather?

     わたしだってせっかくいい働き口があってもこの子と一緒で動きが取れないでしょう      

※Heidi Is now five years old.ハイジは5才

Peter:That's right.そうだ

Peter:Uncl will get mad.おんじに怒られるぞ

Heidi:I have to go.行こう

Peter is eleven years old.
His father who died a long time ago,was also a Goatherd.
Every summer he takes all the goats from the village to graze in the mountains.

おじいさんの山小屋
At Home With Grandfather

5才になるまでおばさんのDeteに育てられてきたハイジは今度、
に住むおじいさんに預けれらることになりました。しかし、
やっとたどり着いた山小屋にいたのは、
あのうわさとおり、実に不愛想な厳しい目をしたおじいさんの姿でした。

Aunt Dete had found a new job
but she couldn't take Heidi with her,
so she took her to the mountains to
live with her Grandfather.

But when she got there,she councluded
that he was even more cruel!('kruːəl残酷的)
than what she thought.

You will be answerable for the
result if harm happens to her.
Though you have hardly any need,
I should think,to add to the burden...

I've heard enough.

While the grandfather was talking with Heidi,he felt his heart lighter and younger.

and was invaded by an unexpected joy that he never felt before.
